Flowing with Nature
Set within a floodplain, this house, its pools and portions of landscape were elevated to allow for the freeflow of storm waters. Vined architectural grills conceal the stilts connecting the house to the ground, achieving a one-story feel and allowing light and air to move from room to room. This, along with the open pavilion and galleries, give it a true sense of connectedness to the climate. The house breathes.

Designed as a winter haven for two, this new-construction home effortlessly expands with family visits. A breezy open-air gallery connects to four bedroom suites, eliminating interior hallways and letting the main residence live as a one-bedroom personal resort. Layered gardens frame every scene—from lush moments of arrival to a bath view bathed in bamboo. Oak-clad ceilings hush large living spaces, dampening the acoustics and affecting the intangible of sound. Even the art was chosen to breathe openness into the residence. An authentic collaboration with the homeowners, the house became a portrait of their spirit.
