Accommodating strong winds and offering counterpoints of intimacy and expansiveness, we incorporated two pools—one protected by a courtyard open to the south sun, and the other smaller, inspired by the famous Blue Holes of the Bahamas, facing the ocean. The living room acts as a bridge over the beach cabana below—a secret cave entrance in the hillside that feels like a scene from a James Bond film.

Overlooking the Bahamian “Tongue of the Sea,” an extension of the Atlantic Ocean, this new-construction retreat balances drama and discretion. Designed for family gatherings and escape, the home offers two pools—one ocean-facing, the other nestled in a sun-filled courtyard to counter seasonal winds. An existing cleft in the dune creates a natural transition to the sea, with southern breezes welcomed through wood jalousies, offering ventilation and privacy. Working closely with the owners’ interior designer, we ensured every gesture—site, structure, detail—supports tropical sophistication and the unique rhythm of island life.
