Listen when the weather whispers
A story of protection: The dual-level portion of the main house protects the courtyard from cold northern winds. The one-story living room protects the courtyard on the oceanview east side. And the living room then links to the roofed cabana, aligning with the pool that was purposely set off-axis. Just as a boat provides different social spots depending on the weather, this home responds in kind.

Custom furniture. Hardy limestone used inside and out. An outdoor entry featuring stucco textured with a fork, mimicking the facade of a 19th century building Clem once took notice of in Chicago. Set on a windswept oceanfront, the home is cradled by native oaks and a resilient coastal hammock. Great care was taken to mitigate the feel of walking up stairs. And so, the courtyard ascends gently—its layered terraces transforming the required elevation into a graceful procession between house and ocean.
